So, let’s cut to the chase. I never studied to be a marketer. I thought that was the fluffy stuff left to the creative types.

I went to school to become a doctor, but life clearly had other plans for me. In fact I never even took a single business, marketing, or economics class in university.

I didn't spend $80,000 on an MBA and I haven't attended any executive marketing programs at American Ivy League universities. I learned everything I know about marketing, branding, digital, communications, business, management and financing at the school of hard-knocks: on the job.

Through this, I've learned valuable experiences - how to work with difficult people, how to effectively manage people, and how to get my job done with some of the shortest timeframes and tightest budgets - all by observing others while being deep in the trenches. I've learned to grow a thick skin and keep the crying to a minimum (or at the very least, confined to the ladies room).

You can't put a price tag on any of this and sorry to say, you can't find it all to this degree in a textbook or classroom.

I've literally worked my way up the proverbial corporate ladder from the mail room to sitting at the executives table.  I'm passionate, creative, driven and hard working. I put in the hours, the sweat equity and I love to have skin in the game.

I'm a team player.

I love to tell stories.

I thrive on the energy and the creativity of others.

I believe in true culture that is displayed and led by example from the top down.

I love to live honestly and I expect the same from others.

I thrive in a flat organization where creativity, culture and innovation are key drivers for a company's growth and success.

I'm a consummate list person and often have several lists going at once.

I'm a pretty honest (and often blunt) individual and I've been told it's one of my greatest strengths. What's the saying? If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen, right?

My resume will speak for itself, but I've worked in a broad range of industries - seen and done it all - from hospitality and agency life to digital, tech, non-profit, finance, real estate development and franchise brands. I have worked for some of North America's best of the best, award-winning companies, participated and contributed to their growth from start up to world-class global brand status.

My niche is marketing, but my true passion is content, storytelling branding, creative direction and strategy.

Marketing is my jam and I tell it like it is.
